LGRC has launched a Governance Health Check and Performance Review for local councils, irrespective of size of council. It adopts a checklist approach to review the effectiveness of a council in areas such as Constitutional Framework, Operations, Finance, Community Interaction, and HR Management, and makes recommendations/proposes actions to help councils implement best practice. LGRC has launched a half-day course to enable smaller councils to understand the requirements of the Transparency Code and implement suitable website solutions to meet these requirements. LGRC has launched a post-election training and team-building programme for new and returning Councillors. The course is designed for all Councillors in a Council to take together, to assist them in understanding their roles, the roles of their Council staff, and facilitate shared thinking as to what the Council wants to achieve during its term of office. It is conducted over either a morning, afternoon or evening session, at the Council’s option.
LGRC welcomes three new Associates to the team: Dominic Stapleton, Medium & Larger Councils Specialist, Toby Warren, Economic & Community Development Associate, and Rachel Leggett, Community Programmes & Neighbourhood Planning Specialist. This adds further depth and specialist expertise to LGRC’s capabilities which will be of real value in supporting our Local Council clients.
Experienced IT Trainer Siobhan Allen has joined the LGRC Team as a Training Associate. Siobhan has developed and taught courses in Microsoft Office and other office support applications for over 15 years. She will deliver a series of practical courses in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint for Local Councils starting on 20th March.
LGRC has launched a new Microsoft Office course in cooperation with the SLCC to provide local council users with practical tips and tuition on how to get the most out of the Office suite, covering Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
